Meet the Author | You Are Not Bad at Technology

Who Am I? Hi, I’m Kristi McPherson-Burns.
If you have ever said the words, "I'm bad at technology," I want you to stop. If you’ve ever felt your chest tighten with anxiety because of technology, I want you to take a deep breath. If you are feeling totally overwhelmed by technology, I want you to take a step back.
The You Are Not Bad at Technology book series and Tech Confidence Now were built for one simple reason: to give YOU BACK your confidence with technology.
Technology is a tool, but it has invaded so many areas of our lives that we forget that—allowing it to overwhelm, stress, frustrate, and even anger us. What sets my approach apart is that I am totally focused on returning the human side of technology back to YOU. I am putting you back in the driver's seat.
Over the years, I’ve watched and experienced firsthand the struggles individuals face when using technology. These struggles are NEVER because of a lack of ability, knowledge, or skills. It is an overwhelm caused by constant technology demands, a lack of supportive guidance, and past negative experiences that leave people feeling defeated.
My books are here to help you let go of the heavy burden of “I’m bad at technology” thinking, quiet the technology noise inside and out, and help you take back control of the technology in your life, your way.
Why Listen to Me? I didn't just study technology in a classroom. I started out as an everyday user, and then I spent decades in the trenches.
I started as a teenager tinkering with technology, became an administrative assistant relying on it daily, and finally spent 15 years working directly in IT support, technical training, systems management, and leadership as an IT Manager.
Do you know what 30 years of technology experience teaches you? It teaches you that technology can cause real stress, anxiety, frustration, and a sense of defeat.
Now, it is time to make it stop. It's time to put your confidence back in control.
